The snowflakes fall, Bigger than I've seen in awhile. Even when I'm sad, Seeing this, I can't help but smile. Not too fond of the cold, But when it's snowing, It's okay. The cold doesn't matter today. I'm at peace, When I'm in the middle, Of this winter wonderland. Simple and little... Cold and damp... Yet warms my heart, Every single bit. The first snow and nothing can compare. I can't let this moment go, Don't want the snow to fade away. Not wanting the snow to melt away, And take away all those memories.

The simple melody floods my mind, Flickers back to my astonished eyes, Showing me the way I must go. This rush of inspiration, This is a feeling that gets me through the day. Keeps me steady, trying my best, Keeping some hope alive, Letting me live again. Don't leave me, hope. You're all that I have to hang on to. This simple melody hits straight to my heart, Filling up all the open parts, The dying parts that became so empty. The parts of my heart that couldn't take, Trying so hard anymore. I'll blow out the candles Wednesday. And I'll hope you'll be there saying happy birthday. But I don't expect too much of this single day. We're walking along the city streets, Lights everywhere, showing us our way. Mimicking steps you take, Keeping up the pace, Then slowing completely. Numb to the cold night before, I start to shiver. Nothing in this world is perfect, Who doesn't know that? Still, we somehow make a perfection, Of our own. Something that isn't perfect, Doesn't have to not be perfect. That what isn't perfect, In our eyes, We make perfect. With the flaws, To us it is perfect, When it really isn't. Barely letting my feet touch the ground, I start to let the world go. Going as high as I possibly can. I'm sky high, I like the feeling. Above all and grand. Smiling as I watch the sky, That looks to surround me. Although it really doesn't. Wishing it did, I watch the clouds go by.
